Young New York medical researcher Natalie Wayne hopes to present a crucial genetic research paper under professor Seibert's direction. Then she's called away to help her accident-disabled father Daniel Wayne, the only MD in a sleepy coastal town. While it becomes clear his problems are worse and affect his patient care, she falls in love with hunky local Mathew Bradford and the charms of the town.

Retired filmmaker Abraham Rabenthal (Vadim Glowna) is producing the directorial debut feature (titled Ins Blaue) of his daughter Nike (Alice Dwyer), and together are filming around Neapolitan locales with their cast and crew. Nike's film is about three young women traveling in a camper van through Italy and having individual adventures with men along the way. Eva hooks up with a monk, Josephine with a mute fisherman, and Laura, an old philosopher. After a bank rejects Abraham's application for further funding, costs needed to be cut, and two of the male characters - the monk and the fisherman, are played by the same cast member Wilhelm, and the old philosopher, by Abraham himself. But that's when things get more complicated.

The 16-years old Niklas is schizophrenia. It can not distinguish between reality and dream. He failed the 10th grade. It begin his last summer vacation. Other young people make parties and celebrations. Niklas retires. Then he meets the girl Lotta. He can cure his illness. Everything is going well. But Lotta's friends are suspicious. And Niklas makes a serious mistake.
